Thanks, heather I was most impressed wtih the effectiveness of fear-release exercises and breathing techniques. My husband and I were impressed and surprised with the amount of information and material covered. It has made a huge difference to our overall view of our forthcoming birthing experience.' Catherine and Antony Ramfos, 2009. My labour started at 7.30am and I had my baby at 11.33pm. I firmly believe the breathing and relaxation techniques enabled me to cope with my labour and made the time pass quickly with only the added help of gas and air. I also believe it went so well because I wasn't frightened of what was happening' Catherine Ramfos, 2009. 'I was most impressed with Heather's professional experience and knowledge, she was able to answer any question I had'. 'The HypnoBirthing classes have a very positive attitude to birthing, supporting natural labour and birth. I can't wait to use all the techniques'. EF, 2009. 'Although ultimately I had an emergency c-section, I got to experience a home birth for 19 hours on a mixture of TENS machine and birth pool. I got to 8cm before needing any gas and air because I felt relaxed and able to cope and my husband was able to use the prompts and relaxation exercises we learnt to keep me focused.....hypnobirthing helped me to have the birth experience that I wanted as the techniques I learnt helped me to cope with the whole experience. I was most impressed with Heather's ability to put us at ease and explain the exercises as well as her level of technical knowledge on the subject. I was happy with the one-to-one classes as it meant it was tailored to my specific needs so I felt more able to take advantage of Heather's knowledge and experience'. I liked very much Heather’s attitude – my concerns that the course would be too ‘hippy happy’ were gone as soon as I met Heather. I was unlucky in that my birthing companion who had done the HypnoBirthing classes with me had some medical problems and could not be at the birth of my baby. I did not use the HypnoBirthing scripts and focused on breathing and relaxation instead. I think that the focus and energy I had came from myself, my yoga, exercise and meditation techniques rather than HypnoBirthing. I had a great birthing experience and the HypnoBirthing theories are well aligned with my own personal believes but I cannot say HypnoBirthing made much difference to my birthing experience. (RD, homebirth of first baby after 8 hour labour on 28/10/08). |

I was most impressed with the relaxed, positive, friendly and reassuring attitude of Heather. Although I was planning a homebirth and got transferred to hospital because my waters had broken for over 24hours, I found the HypnoBirthing techniques extremely useful – for a 44 hour labour, I only used gas and air for the last hour! I have found breastfeeding very easy and my baby is very calm and happy. (CP, first baby born on 12/02/09). |

I don’t know how long I was in established labour for, but they guessed it was probably around the 4hr mark. I wanted to say a big thank you to you for all of your help, support and preparation – it has been priceless! I listened to scripts on my iPod on the train every day (sometimes twice) for about a week until the battery ran out - but I never got around to charging it again and so couldn't even take it to the hospital with me! However, I think it was the reading, practice (whatever amount I managed to do) and most of all the mind-set that counted in the end. I couldn't have asked for the birthing to have gone any better. (SP, first baby born 4 weeks early in October 2010). |
