RENTAL AGREEMENT
Hire period
The Hire of the Pool is £85 all-inclusive for 5-week hire period (£75 for Chrysalis Centre clients). The hire period is from the start of your 37th weeks of pregnancy until the start of your 42nd week of pregnancy.
If for any reason you wish to have the pool for longer, we will do our utmost to accommodate you, this will be charged at £30 per week. However, there is no guarantee that an extension will always be available.
Deposit
Non-returnable booking fee of £50 is required with all bookings. This will be subtracted from the overall balance.
Damage Retainer
A returnable damage retainer of £100 is required to ensure the pool is returned to us clean and in good working order. This should be paid as a separate cheque and will only be banked if the pool is not returned to us in the condition that you received it.
When do I have to pay?
The deposit is due on booking, as this secures the hire of the pool to you for your chosen time period, ensuring that no one else can book it. The balance of the payment is due one week before we deliver the pool to you (usually the 36th week of your pregnancy).
Should you cancel at any time before your pool is delivered, for a medical reason, we will guarantee to refund your balance but not your deposit. If the pool has already been delivered (or collected by you), we are not able to offer a refund. We may have lost bookings because the pool was booked out to you, and cannot re-hire the pool at that time. In this case we recommend you use your pool for relaxation so you don't feel it has been wasted.
How can I pay?
Once you have contacted us and we have been able to satisfy the time period you wish to hire the pool we will send you a copy of our Terms and Conditions along with a Contract form in the post. You will need to sign and return both of these along with your deposit. The balance payment and damage retainer must be paid no later than a week before the delivery of the pool.

How/ when will I receive my Birthing Pool?
The pool can either be collected by you form The Chrysalis Centre, Maidstone or we can arrange to deliver the pool to your home (see charges below). Your rental of the pool begins at the start of your 37th week of pregnancy and a mutually convenient time can be arranged for collection or delivery.
When / how do I send my Birthing Pool back?
When you are finished with your pool, please call us so we can arrange for you to return it or for us to come and collect the pool. We aim for the pool to be collected by no later than 3 working days from the end of your hire period. Please ensure that you send back everything (following the list in your folder) and that all items are packaged carefully.
When will I receive my damage retainer back?
Within 28 days of your pool and any extras you have hired, being returned in good condition. (We normally do this much sooner – typically within a week). We do inspect every pool that is returned to us, and we will charge for any damage or missing items.
What happens if I don’t use my pool?
Whilst we appreciate that it is very disappointing to be planning a home waterbirth and to not achieve this, you are paying to have the pool in your home for this time. Therefore, the cost of the hire will still be charged.
Pool hire delivery/ collection
Customers are more than welcome to collect and return birth pool to/from The Chrysalis Centre, Maidstone.
Either delivery OR collection is included in the cost of the hire. However, if you wish to have the pool delivered AND collected then there is an extra charge for this as follows:
£15 within a 20 mile radius of ME20 postcode or BN15 postcode.
Mileage above this radius will be charged at an extra £1 per mile.
